Windows SMB Privilege Elevation Vulnerability - 20260824001¶
Overview¶
Microsoft has released a security advisory for an elevation of privilege vulnerability affecting the Windows SMB Client. Successful exploitation could allow an unauthorised attacker to bypass a security feature over the network and gain elevated privileges on a vulnerable system, potentially increasing their level of access and control on the affected device.

What has been observed?¶
The WASOC has observed mention of exploitation in the wild for one or more of the mentioned vulnerabilities. The WASOC has not received any reports of exploitation of this vulnerability on Western Australian Government networks at the time of writing.
