Flaw in OpenEXR image library - 20260629003¶
Overview¶
The WASOC has been made aware of OpenEXR HTJ2K decoder vulnerable to heap buffer over-read in ht_undo_impl() (DoS). OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. If exploited the vulnerability would result into a deterministic crash (DoS) and potential adjacent-heap leak.

What has been observed?¶
The WASOC has not received any reports of exploitation of this vulnerability on Western Australian Government networks at the time of writing.
