UPDATE: NotepadPlusPlus Traffic Hijacking Vulnerability - 20260213002¶
Overview¶
Since the initial publication of advisory on 15th of December 2025 Ref:20251215002 , recent reports from security researchers identified incidents of traffic hijacking impacting Notepad++. Investigations found that traffic from WinGUp, the Notepad++ update mechanism, was in some cases redirected to malicious servers, resulting in the download of compromised executables.

What has been observed?¶
The WASOC has not received any reports of exploitation of this vulnerability on Western Australian Government networks at the time of writing.
