Mozilla Firefox Critical Vulnerability - 20241010001¶
Overview¶
The WA SOC has been made aware a critical vulnerability in Firefox that allows an attacker to achieve code execution by exploiting a use-after-free vulnerability.
Mozilla has stated that there are reports of the vulnerability being exploited in the wild and has released updates to it's Firefox products.

What has been observed?¶
Mozilla has stated that there are reports of the vulnerability being exploited in the wild. There is no evidence of exploitation affecting Western Australian Government networks at the time of publishing.
Recommendation¶
The WA SOC recommends administrators apply the solutions as per vendor instructions to all affected devices within expected timeframe of 48 hours (refer Patch Management):
