Overview¶
Fortinet have released a report relating to the ongoing exploitation of an old vulnerability impacting D-Link DIR-645 Wired/Wireless Router that allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands. The vulnerability is being actively exploited to create botnets.
The impacted product is end-of-life and should be disconnected if still in use.

CISA added this vulnerability to their Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. There is no evidence of exploitation affecting Western Australian Government networks at the time of publishing.
Recommendation¶
The WA SOC recommends administrators apply the solutions as per vendor instructions to all affected devices within expected timeframe of 48 Hours (refer Patch Management):
