Apple security releases - 20230717005¶
Overview¶
Apple has released Security Updates and Rapid Security Responses to address multiple vulnerabilities in Apple software. An attacker can exploit these vulnerabilities to take control of an affected system.
What is the vulnerability?¶
The vulnerability affects the following products:
- The latest version of iOS and iPadOS is 16.5.1. Learn how to update the software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
- The latest version of macOS is 13.4.1. Learn how to update the software on your Mac and how to allow important background updates.
- The latest version of tvOS is 16.5. Learn how to update the software on your Apple TV.
- The latest version of watchOS is 9.5.2. Learn how to update the software on your Apple Watch.
Note that after a software update is installed for iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and watchOS, it cannot be downgraded to the previous version.
What has been observed?¶
There is no evidence of exploitation affecting Western Australian Government networks at the time of publishing.
Recommendation¶
The WA SOC recommends users and administrators to apply Rapid Security Responses solutions as per vendor instructions to all affected devices as mentioned in the Apple Security Release.
